In Everything, Give Thanks

Let the peace of Christ be in control in your heart (for you were in fact called as one body to this peace), and be thankful.” - Colossians 3:15

As we start a new week, I am reminded of the importance of giving thanks and being grateful. 🙏

In 1 Thessalonians 5, Paul reminds us to 16 Always rejoice, 17 constantly pray, 18 in everything give thanks. For this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus”

This is a simple yet powerful reminder that no matter the trials we face, we can always approach life with gratitude, knowing that God has a plan for us.

In Everything Give Thanks For This Is God's Will For You In Christ Jesus

With that in mind, here's a helpful exercise to consider: replace “have to”, with “get to”

Instead of saying “I have to wake up”, say “I get to wake up”

Instead of saying “ I have to go to work” say “I get to go to work”

Instead of saying “ I have to exercise”, say “I get to exercise”

Instead of saying “I have to read the Bible”, say “I get to read the Bible”

It's amazing how a little gratitude in our perspectives can change how we approach our lives.

Every day is God's gift to us.

We get to grow and experience His plans for us.

As we begin a new week, let us rejoice and give thanks in all things, knowing that this is God’s will for us in Christ Jesus. 🙏

I hope this will be as much of an encouragement to you as it was to me.
